Derya Ülker’s work mainly focuses on crowds in public space. Based on the image repertoire formed by multitudes, she thinks about and produces new forms and structures of networks. She is interested both in subjects and political and cultural objects in this structure. The painting Miniature is in warm colors as it is known to be miniated in red pigments. The warm colour palette is generally referred to exotic lands, oriental understanding, interior and women. However in this painting female figures are the ones serving and they are restless.
